I’ve made many references over the past several years to financial markets being a complex adaptive system. I find the concept fascinating and elegant, but it requires more explanation than I’ve ever had the space, word count, or reader attention span to cover within the context of another article.
Over the next several weeks, I’m going to flesh out some of the things I’ve learned about complex adaptive systems. My hope is that the posts will interact with each other in such a way that the series is greater than the sum of its parts (a super-cheesy complex adaptive systems reference that will make sense as you learn more).
Check back here next week for how I was introduced to complex adaptive systems through piles of sand.
